Hi #Mastodon family some people have been asking why we don’t post the maize on our land hhh. So here it is, our maize field looks all green and healthy πŸ˜‰. And the funny part is πŸŒ½πŸ˜‚ the maize we gave the least attention is now among the most developed around us. Harvest time is getting closer and we can’t wait to share with the community πŸ˜‰ In #Africa maize are used to make posho, a common school meal. Fresh maize can also be roasted or boiled and tastes great πŸ˜‰. #foodproduction #africanfood

@econetwork@mas.to @pacific06@mastodon.social I really like the weeds in between, which we gonna use to mulch the banana & coffee plantation @iwein@mas.to how does it work in the NL, do you grow corn as well or consume posho or corn porridge just like it works in East Africa? btw, do you grow any cereal(s) at @voedselboskabouters@mastodon.nl ? @econetwork@mas.to The equivalent in Italy, also eaten in South Tyrolia, Tyrolia and Bavaria. We had it at home in Suebia, too. It's called polenta

  • @econetwork@mas.to Do you know what variety of maize? It seems to have taken to the conditions where you are.
