Im curious what makes you say this? I switched to KDE a couple months ago after updating to ubuntu 25.10 and finding out gnome is forcing wayland going forward, but most of my daily used applications dont work on wayland at all. KDE will atleast still support X11 for another couple years. I really wish I could go back to gnome as I just really don’t like how little KDE has thought about multi monitors with its bottom panels/task managers.

I use a triple display setup on kde 6 and it’s been excellent for me. Incredible customization. I have no bottom task managers or panels. Everything up top. Per-virtual desktop customization if you want it. I’m not on Ubuntu/Kubuntu so I don’t know how they’re shipping it, but it sounds like you might need to spend a little more time exploring the options and menus. Those are a little scattered/obscure in a lot of cases - with things spread out unevenly. But it does work and is wildly customizable. In no way am I saying KDE is perfect - but I’ve been daily driving it for almost three years now as my primary development and work machine and it’s been fabulous. If there’s anything specific, I’d be happy to help, share tips, screenshots, whatever.

i would also like to know what you mean. i daily both gnome and kde, gnome is by far the worse performer when it comes to multi monitor stuff. it’s more of a power user tablet interface, with great gesture and multitouch support.
