Can anyone advance a theory as to why a Berlin hotel uses a TV channel to play, over and over in an "eternal loop", The Big Lebowski?

It seems the explanation is that the hotel was created by a couple of friends, and it has been playing The Big Lebowski continuously since it opened, 17 years ago.
