First of all, there are only three things I pay more than $200/mth for and those are the mortgage, the groceries and the electricity.
Second, I wouldn't pay $20/mth for how often I use an AI, let alone $200.
A query to (work-provided) CoPilot saved me 5 minutes yesterday when it told me which of approximately eleventy billion 3GPP technical standards documents pertained to a thing I needed to check. I don't think that was worth $20 though. I would've figured it out myself if I just looked.

@Salty@mastodon.nz we are accustomed to getting "information" for "free" via the platforms that farm us for advertising revenue. That doesn't really work when the AI platforms have been trained on that "information" but inference costs aren't free. Plus they've generated the demand without being able to service it so e.g. there are limits on usage even for paying consumers.
