I could probably create a dedicated bridge for this container (connected to the uplink network interface) and just use the floating IP directly, with not NAT? Don't think that's how it's supposed to be done though.

@galaxis@mastodon.infra.de Yes, this is a very good idea, because you avoid routing (L3) and can do switching (L2). We do IPv4 and IPv6 in Hetzner like this: email. ecobytes. net is an Incus container, as is search. federated. wiki Else you would build another load balancer second to the one that provides the floating IP just in front of your container. Else NAT is always a pain, but SNAT and DNAT do their work, if you can model the outgoing flow through a separate interface with the floating IP.
