One ate through my garden rake's handle, which i just detach it and set it aside. None of my stuff are being eaten since then. And since i also plant a lot of stuff and could benefits from carpenter bees, i just let them stay. Tbf we're the invader that take away their habitats.

I have an old tennis racquet that I keep on the deck when I’m outside. That thing can fuck up some carpenter bees.
