Very interesting from both a history and textile viewpoint - there was an exhibition. Mr Salt already had 5 mills, this mill was large enough to have everything on one site. He accidentally discovered alpaca wool and blended it into his fabrics. The alpaca is a symbol for the label! Meanwhile he was wanting good accommodation for his workers, and facilities to improve their education. #Saltaire #Yorkshire
