@om@witter.cz @mollyim@fosstodon.org With Matrix you are not tied to a single provider, use provider not requiring a phone number, have plenty of client apps due to open client<>server API, have no Andorid/iOS device needed for basic usage. With Signal you can be more confident in encryption and protections, as Signal seems to be more liked among people in cryptography/security and much more knowledgeable than me.
