@joshg@mathstodon.xyz One could argue that until the AI reaches the age of majority (18 yo), the company that wrote the software acts in loco parentis. Also, until the AI is of age, it will have to comply with age verification laws in order to surf the web for training data. Child abuse laws could be interesting; what if Child Protective Services moves the AI to a foster home?
