@lzg I have a pair of canvas shoes a half size too large (on purpose) and I just bought some inexpensive, durable elastic. I then laced it in the shoe with my foot in it. I pinned the top part securely so I could just slip my foot out, sewed the ends together, unpinned & trimmed it. They are my slip-ons. The only down side is the tongue slides around because laces prevent this when they are laced tighter.
