Very moving mini memoir. Thanks for writing and sharing. The societal benefits of people being able to experience other cultures are enormous. I so look forward to Ukraine’s membership in the EU. I stopped in Brussels in 2023 on my way to Ukraine and was moved to see the flag of Ukraine already waving outside the EU Parliament.
Have you visited Ukraine yet? I’ve been in Kyiv since I arrived and look forward to seeing more of the country after the war is over. Kyiv is a grand city.

@djembro@universeodon.com A big thank you to you for reading! Did you visit Ukraine in 2023? My partner was Ukrainian for a long time so I visited twice almost every year until summer 2024. It's a beautiful country with the kindest of people, even in the currently terrible circumstances, and Kyiv is magnificent! I'll definitely be returning there!
