the real issue is that billionaires should be taxed properly, UHC in place, and cancer treatments covered already. but people have it so ingrained in their psyche that that isn't an option that people are stuck arguing about who should be getting fucking gofundme donations (and for what purpose) over anyone else edit: i want to add that the fact that hospitals encourage their patients to look at gofundme as a way to pay their medicals bills is just absolutely mind-boggling to me. yes, the costs should be crowd-funded--*guess what the fuck universal healthcare IS*?! billionaires just don't want a single fraction of a percent of a sliver of a shadow of a penny of their OWN money being a part of that "crowd" fund
