As someone who has cancer and can't get a dime on gofundme to help out, I won't lie, this irks me a little bit. That kind of money would literally be life-changing for me and yet would still only pay for less than two years of treatment out of pocket.

Charity isn’t a zero-sum game. Just because someone else does well doesn’t mean you can’t or won’t. feeling irked by this serves no purpose and is a waste of your time and resources.

GoFundMe isn't for saving your life, it's for making sure our healthcare system continues to not serve you As much as I enjoy this happening it isn't really a way of effecting change either but let people revel in the catharsis a little.
