GitLab claim in their docs that you can verify your GitLab profile page on Mastodon by adding the Mastodon link to your GitLab profile but that's just false (https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/work_items/599766). That being said, I just verified my GitLab and codeberg profiles links by temporarily setting my website on both to my mastodon profile and switching back. A bit messy and I do wonder if the green tick will eventually go away next time the mastodon server checks.
