I'm guessing like most networked services usually when someone says "Blah is down" it means packets can't arrive through their relayed area of the net either because of heavy traffic or because of technical issues ranging from somone tripping over a cable and loosening it to a Russian naval ship accidentally snagging an undersea cable.

@lrhodes@merveilles.town nope I take that back - looks like something core is having issues - some comments suggesting having embraced vibe coding likely to be the cause. Check the hashtag for more specifics - however whatever caused this clearly underlines bluesky is, despite claims to the contrary, very much centralised. #bluesky
