Sega has canceled development of its ‘super game’, as it pivots away from live service games | VGC

Enough live service games have lost enough money, including Sega’s Hyenas, that at least one company is now scared enough to stop making them. Video games are healing.

  • They're sitting on IP's with crazy potential like Jet Set Radio / Crazy Taxi and are doing nothing with them.

    Finally! Of all the gaming companies, I think Sega is #2 behind EA on properties they own that they are doing fuck all with. I'd love a current gen Burning Rangers, or Phantasy Star (not online).

    If Sega still had their edge Haste would have been a Sonic game before the indie studio could think of it and PSO2 NG wouldn't exist
