@Ciaraioch@mastodon.ie I like the idea, but for it to work people need to know how to pronounce the placenames around them. And I think people struggle with Irish phonetics as its not taught. It would be a good idea for a series by one of the Irish speaking youtubers I think.

@mer@mastodon.ie @Ciaraioch@mastodon.ie people struggle with place names in english also like Togher in Cork, Kilmacanogue in Wicklow and Tyrone in Tyrone Some people can't pronounce Daingean in Kerry but have no issue with Daingean in Offaly
