I'm always happy to have more money in my pocket, but $500 is nothing compared to spending months in a filthy, dangerous jail without being convicted of a crime. Their priority should be getting rid of the backlog in the court system and assuring that every suspect has competent legal services. The pseudo-libertarian rhetoric is painful.
