Whether it be tomorrow, or 60 years from now, someday I will likely die (I'm not going to say I absolutely will, because I can't predict the future of healthcare, technology, or random chance that one of my greatest wishes is granted by the universe), and thoughts of how this would be handled by my loved ones have been on my mind recently. Everybody has kind of been floundering on what to do with *everything* after Ruby's death. Her stuff, her projects, her loved ones, etc. And so I want to lay out some of the things that I absolutely do or do not want to happen after my death, just so there's less floundering. So, here goes: - None of my loved ones are to use my death as the reason for their death. If you die, you die, but you are not doing so to join me. I would prefer you to continue to live long and happy lives after I am gone, until it is your time to join me. - I want to be buried, with a Stone Ship as my grave site, a tree to be planted as the "mast" of that ship, and the headstone to just be a large stone with the usual details carved in to it. - Probably some kind of quote to be carved below the usual details. From a book, film, game, poem, etc. I'll have to think about what I'd really like, but at the moment I am mostly attracted to a line from a song I particularly like (The Sea of Night by The Old Gods of Asgard) "We have been warriors, poets, and elder gods" - Yes, this desired quote will likely change on a whim at any given moment. I'm sure you'll be able to find something cool, or pithy, that feels suitable for my headstone - I want my burial to be as natural as possible. No harmful chemicals or preservatives that will leech into the ground and poison nature. Those new caskets made from fungi are really cool, go with one of those if possible (or something similar) - Do *NOT* bury any of my plushies with me. The thought of any of them rotting in the ground with me haunts me, and hurts me. They will be lonely without me. I want them to be distributed amongst my loved ones, and hopefully passed down or around for many generations. If this isn't possible, donation to a museum would be nice. - My media & technology should probably be passed around or donated to a museum too. My games collections in particular would probably be appreciated by several institutions in the future. Physical media is becoming a rarity after all. - By media I mean, like, all my books, films, CDs, DVDs, games, etc. - If my ex-wife or any of my ex-girlfriends try to show up, tell them all to fuck off. - What you *can* bury me with is some coinage and some weaponry. I have no idea what, if anything, I'll be facing after I die, so I'd like to go in as prepared as possible ok? Also, it'll make my grave super confusing to future archaeologists, which has always been a goal of mine. That's about all I can think of at the moment.
