if A ⊢ B ("A" implies "B") is true, ¬B ⊢ ¬A ("not A" implies "not B") follows, but ¬A ⊢ ¬B does not having said that, "if you're not left-wing when you're young, you have no heart. if you're not right-wing when you're old, you have no brains, " makes sense, iff you consider dementia. if you're right-wing when you're old, you still have no brains, but if you've never been left-wing even in your youth, you've probably always been a sad sack of shit
