The Evisceration of the American Mind:
I know this will sound pretty bad:
The illuminated state of mind in science and law took decades of effort and the effect is/was cumulative
Is it moderate society is being taken over by a bunch of people who only consider personal (or like minded) gain as a motive?
The key indicators for me is that fundamental principles of independent science, press and judiciary are eroded
IE the sources of Truth, Reflection and Boundaries

@CressSalad@mastodon.social There has long been a disjunction between science law. It is extremely rare that someone would get degrees in both. There was an informal effort in 1990s in the US to give judges seminars training in science from professional scientists. I don't think anything like that happens nowadays. We now have 6 Supreme Court justices who actively oppose science (climate change, abortion rulings).
