@jessamyn@glammr.us She means well, but fundamentally misunderstands the bill. She praises libraries for defaulting to privacy and requiring consent, but that is opt-in. S.71 is opt-out. Her patron who never changes defaults gets no new protection. The cross-platform aggregation she correctly identifies as harmful (YouTube + Waze + Fitbit building a complete profile) is never addressed by the bill at all. She's testifying against the status quo while endorsing legislation that preserves it.
