25 years ago, I started running my own personal email server.
In the tech world, they have a name for people like us: "masochists." And honestly, they have a point. It's a constant battle with deliverability, spam, security patches, and late-night maintenance.
So why do it? For privacy. For control. For the freedom of not having a corporation reading your mail.
Attached is a look at the front lines: my spam filter's stats for the last year. After two and a half decades, the war never changes.
