One example:
The noble and great socket.dev company helps to secure npm, but that includes protecting big tech and investores from angry abused open source devs as well - they even coined a term for it called "protestware".
Its horrific. The founder was once a fighter for the 1-person dev, but i dont see how he is still fighting that fight and its obvious its more lucrative to make money by protecting abusive companies, so its tempting to switch sides - cant blame anyone.

@dvl@bsd.network @leaverou@front-end.social There are plenty of people being aware of this issue, for sure the open source devs, but mqny others as well. Articles like the above one come and go regularly for more than a decade and various little niche projects try to solve it but cant. It needs a movement to solve this and those who know shpupd have a way more active approach and discussion about thebpros/coms of various approaches and experiment. Anyway - I hope the article does its part on convincing the right readers
