Two or three weeks ago, we lost a pair of our downtown Sacramento sky cams on one of the office buildings. The microwave link went down. We were stretched too thin to go investigate. Finally one of the engineers went last week and found the whole ass building dark and locked up. Turns out it lost power weeks ago and they still haven&#39;t revived it. It&#39;s a 22 or 23 floor building. Not like I&#39;ve ever heard of this kind of thing happening: https://www.kg4cyx.net/the-tale-of-the-greaseball/

I'd love to find out what the story is behind it. The failure occurred under fair weather, so I don't think it was a basement flood or anything. (I suspect this building's switchgear is NOT in the basement though, as most of it is kinda publicly accessible and it is mostly occupied by a private gym for workers in the building and a loading area with a trash container and big ramp that allows the container to be pulled out and swapped for an empty.)

@vxo@digipres.club Wackenhut - always makes me chuckle. Also, "casual urban exploration". No idea if these exist anymore, but in the 1970s a warren of tunnels snaked all around downtown Houston. Much like the tunnel system in Montreal, they allowed people to move from building to building without being exposed to life-threatening weather - heat in Hou. Bodegas, fast food, etc. Plus, unlocked doors. At night, a curious person might find himself alone in a bank or oil company C-suite, completely unnoticed.
