@rorystarr@mstdn.social for years I had gotten used to the hype cycle. Even though I haven't ever particularly been fond of it. I didn't mind a little bit of exaggeration, but fabulism was never my thing. Now the entire process is so divorced from anything in reality, it almost negates the concept of satire.
