I find a lot of these tools (I work with a lot of the video restoration tasks) like the invention of dynamite. Most people need to steer clear of it. If you have an explosives licence, you’ll know whether to use it. And using it involves a ton of preparation. The sorts of queries I put into LLMs take me minutes to write, second guessing everything, and securing all the preventions of mistakes. It really is like giving a school student a task to write a history essay. It can be done, but they need guidance. There is a limit: Anything that hasn’t truly been done before, cannot be done. If you ask a kid to invent antigravity, it’ll turn out as bad as an LLM. But AI = Average Intelligence, the average of humanity. If you know that others know stuff you don’t, then it’s going to leverage others’ intelligence for you.
