Genuinely I dont think im a cat therian and to be honest i performed the whole thing because everyone told me I was so cat like
But I dont think of myself as a cat and frankly dont feel that connection. I feel an odd connection to the maned wolf, foxes, and surprisingly I think I feel this connection to the wolverine
But I was told I couldnt have a canine as a fursona because it was basic, so I was labeled with a cat fursona. I didnt wanna fight and lose the friends i had so I just went with it. I dont actually feel the need to look at the birds and trill, I do it because im supposed to
Am I a cat because I feel like a cat? Or am I a cat because other people told me I was a cat, because they saw me as disinterested and lazy, and apathetic? Because it all started from the caricatures of cats.
I think im very much cathearted, but I dont identify AS a cat. Otherhearted is identifying with or relating with an animal, and therian is BEING that animal. Cats are like family, but I'm no cat.
I just thought I had to be a cat because I was told it wasn't as basic as anything wolf related. Frankly this was during the time where wolves and dogs were insanely more popular and cats were somehow niche? But I dont think cat or feline fits.
Wolverines are also not ugly and they're not even mean. Maybe stop scaring it and it'll stop trying to attack.
It feels like Im stuck in a fight response, and I keep fighting people when im cornered. I feel like a muzzled, othered animal.
I think at most maned wolf is great symbolism but the main ties I feel are to the red fox and wolverine. And I think no matter how basic, it doesnt actually matter to anyone but me.
I thought maybe being told by even other therians i was a cat, i was just being a cat therian wrong. After all I didnt feel any other connection to cats aside from "I feel a familial bond but nothing that marks me AS a cat". Thats what I get for being an impressionable 14 yr old.
Yeah I have cat behaviors, I had cats growing up. No shit im going to mimic them.
