@temporal_spider@masto.ai @deepmud@mas.to I thought that too but when I looked at the snake identification chart for North Florida, it looks like a pine snake. If not, I'm lucky it was busy with it's breakfast!

@blwinnemore@universeodon.com it's a very pretty snake! Having met many a rattler on hikes, they really are not aggressive. They are very defensive. They do not want to bite you and they don't chase people like some African snakes. I think you were quite safe so long as you didn't step on it.
