@paul@tapbots.social low end models are incredibly useful for the things that most people use AI for which is basic word processing. While remaining much more efficient and easier to harden.
Yes, they’re not great for coding, but Apple is simply too far behind to catch up in my eyes without blowing up their balance sheets.
It would be nice, but it makes little sense in the current market. There isn’t a single AI company that’s profitable.

@hoboshrimps@mastodon.social @paul@tapbots.social I agree with Hoboshrimps. My limited use of AI is just using the free model in ChatGPT for searching and text review. Basic stuff but it works well. We’re not all developers 😀
