if coming from windows, Mint with Cinnamon is a good option.
I have not dared upgrade my laptop, the drivers issue scares me.

@Thebratdragon@mastodon.scot That scares me a bit too, but I have to say Zorin was very good at finding drivers for everything, including the printer! It also managed to connect to my NAS after some fiddling (and aforementioned keyring issue).
