@thefoggiest@indieweb.social Actually, that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm using DMS (docker-mailserver) here. Of course, it's not proprietary like Google's and Microsoft's offerings — it's open source — but ultimately, it's an off-the-shelf image that I pull.
Of course, I see your point. But IMHO, it's better to go this route than to get stuck with Big Tech.
DMS is not a one-click solution. You need to familiarise yourself with it, generate the correct certificates and set the DNS records.
