@fogti@chaos.social I think a metable would be if you, instead of arguing something directly, tell someone your abstract point and goal in the conversation. Something like "I'm trying to make you see the many similarities between yourself and recent immigrants in the hopes of incrementally nudging you away from your racism." or somesuch.
