@ekuber@hachyderm.io yes, this happens so much because of how they're represented. I explain what happens at a deeper level in the book, going into how they aren't really replaced by language features but only seem that way because of how they were documented in the GoF book. It was fascinating researching this stuff and figuring out what happened and why.
