I need to find an adapter for this stupid HD-DVD drive from 2008. Sorry, this is before my time.

50 pin jae connector, if it's from 2008 that's like the last batch before everything thankfully went sata. Its probably an IDE drive. Hopefully the discs won't have disk rot.

Maybe one of these? On AliExpress: 12.7mm USB 2.0 DVD/CD-ROM Case , IDE/ PATA to SATA Optical Drive External Enclosure For Laptop https://a.aliexpress.com/_Evga3Y0 Looks like a high density IDE connector. I'd shop around for similar products, not sure if you need USB, SATA or just big IDE.

That's probably a proprietary connector combining Sata and power, typical for removable drives in laptops
