Something that's become clear to me over the last decade is that the systems we have in place - "Justice", NLRB, FDA/EPA, even democracy itself - are all mediating tools created by an imperial ruling class to insulate themselves from the immediate consequences of their own decisions and actions. It's also become clearer and clearer that our current ruling class didn't get the memo; they don't understand the purpose of these institutions isn't to *restrict* them; it's to *protect* them.
