@aesthr@wandering.shop I mean that’s a great example. I literally have my settings such that if I don’t follow someone, I need to approve their replies by default. If I post quiet public, it black holes their replies without even asking me (I use this when posting about gen AI now, for example). And that’s just a janky version of what bsky already does.
I do agree there’s a lot of these people on here btw and I think what I’m getting at is part of the reason for that is that they’ve been allowed to thrive and push more reasonable people out

@zkat@fedi.zkat.tech yeah I know about those settings, but I want to get in touch with people through social media, not just talk to people I already know. And that is really painful here. And in general, I think the way moderation is pushed onto the individual here is a big part of the problem. It’s a very libertarian ideal of social media.
