In general, academics talking about specifically named LLM products (rather than talking about LLMs in general) is now such a recognisable genre that it's hard to imagine that it's not somehow coordinated and planned as a marketing campaign. Would be fascinating to try to trace how this has happened.

@neuralreckoning@neuromatch.social There’s a wider weirdness, with a lot of people being very anti-LLM in general, but who are also using it a lot in very specific ways (some specific coding pattern, some thing they struggle with in writing, reading, etc). I guess talking about products might be about this?
