I see folks posting about #privacy quite a lot. 'I use [x] and do [y] to stop advertisers from getting my data', that sort of thing. That's great, I do the same! However, I have a lifetime of experimenting with computers to fall back on, the privilege of having enough time to do it and of course the interest to do it too. I'm sure at least some of that applies to people writing these messages as well. Unfortunately most people do not have these skills, the time or the resources to do this. Yes we can help, but ultimately it's an uphill battle against something that is now firmly entrenched into our societies. Everyone deserves respect, #privacy and agency over the technology they use. Not just a select few. This problem is only going to start to be fixed by regulation and the business models these tech companies work with substantively changing. #privacy #bigtech
