I remember my Großtante always telling us to speak clearly so she could understand what we were saying . And to stand tall and still while we spoke. Proper children did not run around making constant noise. Side note, We used to crinkle paper near her at times because her huge hearing aid would pick it up. Her reaction as she pulled the ear pieces out spouting a mix of german and yiddish was funny. Yes we were little shits. But somehow Mastodon translate understood the word nuschelt as noseering. What language is that from?
