I earnestly think we need more shareable blocklists that aren’t trying to hide under the veneer of moral justification. You’d go like “yeah I personally figure Rabbit has basically good sense, I’ll install their ‘freaks (derogatory)’ blocklist, that’ll probably be a net good for my experience” and then install a couple more blocklists you think are sensible and then, in addition to having a baseline blocklist of racists, transphobes etc, you’d also get to ignore all types of people who are just irritating and bothersome

there are a million reasons to block someone that have nothing to do with them being a bad person but often blocking is conflated with a moral action and it simply does not have to be. you can block someone because they post daily photos of their ugly cat, make sourdough bread, or insist on using the letter eth. I recommend trying it

@rabbit@cathode.church I like how you clarified "freaks (derogatory)" because I would totally have a follow list called "freaks (complimentary)" too.
