honestly it’s rude when people expect you to keep your placemat clean, it’s literally there so the table doesn’t get dirty WHAT DO YOU MEAN I’M JUST NOT SUPPOSED TO MAKE A MESS

@tillybridges@mastodon.social huh, come to think of it, I unthinkingly (a) keep the debris on roll-paper or newspaper covering my table in a fish-shack, bbq, etc sort of place. (B) brush crumbs off dark monochrome fabric placemats to keep them tidy.

@tillybridges@mastodon.social I remember the days of the dining table having a nice tablecloth and placemats, along with other decorations, that were removed from the table for actual meals, then returned afterward.
