In case anyone else finds it useful, I have gotten around to cleaning up my personal emoji picker (created after my rofimoji installation broke one too many times; so now it’s in Go which doesn’t break), so in case you’re using #i3 and are looking for an emoji picker:
https://github.com/stapelberg/emoji-picker-for-i3 is the one that annoys me the least ;)
I configured it in my i3 config on key binding Super+M for “M”-oji 😂
Try it out on Nix-enabled systems, like #NixOS:
nix run github:stapelberg/emoji-picker-for-i3

It’s pretty amazing that one can just “nix run” software nowadays. I’ll also point out that this program ships “fully stamped”, see https://michael.stapelberg.ch/posts/2026-04-05-stamp-it-all-programs-must-report-their-version/ So you can always know exactly which git revision it was built from :)

@zekjur@mas.to cool one. But I can't grasp the reality of an emoji picker.. breaking?? Using this one since forever, never had a hiccup: https://github.com/Mange/rofi-emoji
