A lot of you are software developers and will know that feeling when you procrastinate about a bug fix or new feature because you think it will be a nightmare but it turns out to be really simple. Today I had the same thing about #running. After a couple of hours of avoiding it, just to stop my brain churning it over, I went out and had a lovely time and it was the first run where I managed to listen to a podcast. I’ve no idea why I had the mental block but TIL that running is like coding. 🤷‍♂️

  • @simon@social.sgawolf.com I get the exact same feeling with my bike, and the solution I’ve found is so simple it sounds almost stupid: I tell myself “ok, ok, ok, let’s meditate about why you’re procrastinating this *while riding* the bike”. Just did that yesterday. Ended up doing 66km and discovering the most beautiful trail around.

@simon@social.sgawolf.com samesies. Running and cycling, and I can’t think of a time where going out was the wrong decision too. Definitely been annoyed I didn’t go out when I first intended to though! I find going with a buddy makes me show up.
