@rubenwardy@hachyderm.io @lazza@mastodon.social @Luanti@floss.social I’d expect also something coming out from the devroom organizers especially if they _invite_ you :D FOSDEM hands off a lot of that organizational burden on the shoulders of single devroom admins so maybe they could gather some travel budget too. In the end being it a free conference it’s very hard to offer anything anyway

@dottorblaster@fosstodon.org @rubenwardy@hachyderm.io @Luanti@floss.social indeed. Being a free event does not mean there is no budget or no expenses. It’s free because of sponsors. I spoke at several free events in which the standard was to pay travel+hotel. I do not expect to charge a speaker’s fee, but if you invite me to spend time in Belgium, I am already giving up a few DAYS of billable hours. At least don’t have me pay for this “privilege”.
