Well, both are, in a way. Just depends on your distribution. Gentoo uses the same cow as cowsay, if you type emerge --moo.
Gentoo is the first choice for any cow lover anyways, because of Larry.

@celesteh@hachyderm.io By the way, there even was a bug reported, when Larry's tail looked somehow wrong. And fixed, of course. https://bugs.gentoo.org/654224 (OK, I guess I have to reinstall Gentoo, used it for quite some time, but not the best distro, if you don't have much time for it...)
