@ell1e@hachyderm.io @SylvieLorxu@chaos.social My concern is that they reach for totalitarian tools too easily and the citizen has a massive mountain to climb to assert their rights when inevitably an EU state gets it wrong. I am Irish, from a full EU member and yet get excluded from work in EU countries because CIVIL SERVANTS cannot tell the difference between the UK and Ireland. This is my issue. Misdiagnosis and punishing the wrong people.

@humanhorseshoes@mastodon.world @SylvieLorxu@chaos.social Oh, I agree. If you read what I linked, it's a writeup "We're repeating German history, apparently" comparing it to previous fascists snooping on people and going in-depth on why this plan seems to be quite harmful.
