@ell1e@hachyderm.io @SylvieLorxu@chaos.social Getting ahead of what? They failed to regulate social media in the first place. Facebook is 22, Instagram is 16, Google is 28, why today and not in 2010 or 2015? What has changed?

@humanhorseshoes@mastodon.world @SylvieLorxu@chaos.social The post I linked has the actual guidelines from the EU commission released in 2025 and apparently slated for review and possible enforcement in July 2026, basically UK Online Safety Act 2.0, and quotes the section why this is apparently planned to come to basically almost every online forum. And the technical docs of the actual app meant to check your age in Germany
