I left something vital out. Those of us white folks who decided not to be racist, when our non-white friends told us about their experiences, did we believe them? If we did, did we assume it was a one-off? Because this is not who we are, right? We should have listened and believed and sought out the stories that were out there. Instead of continuing to believe the delusion.
