Another set of very poor pictures taken of another very rapidly moving insect 😬
But fortunately, the black, white, & red colour scheme is distinctive enough even when out of focus, leading to a fairly certain ID.
Namely that it's another sawfly, this time of the privet variety (Macrophya punctumalbum; 🇩🇪 Liguster-Blattwespe).

Finally for now, a species I've already posted pictures of, the spotted cranefly (Nephrotoma appendiculata; 🇩🇪 Gefleckte Wiesenschnake). This time, however, a pair of them caught in flagrante delicto 😳 Plenty more to come later – I counted another 35+ species in my photos, most new to me.
